It is a lot to see around San Ignacio – nearby attractions include the ancient Maya remains of Caracol, Xunantunich, El Pilar, Tikal (Guatemala), cave Actun Tunichil Muknal or the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. Remains of Maya city of Cahal Pech are located right near to the San Ignacio. A one week stay should be a minimum if you want to see what the area has to offer.
